540 Trees Planted in Tanah Abang

Some 540 shade and productive trees were planted in seven urban areas in Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta.

Tanah Abang Sub-district Head, Dicky Suherlan said the hundreds of trees planted were the result of collaboration with the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture (Kemenko PMK), the Ciliwung Das Citarum Management Center (BPDAS), and the Lions Club.
"These trees are planted on assets belonging to Jakarta, social and public facilities, as well as private lands," he expressed, Saturday (1/13).

"We also plant trees in every communal work," he uttered.
He urged the residents to help supervise and maintain the trees that had been planted together with urban village and sub-district elements.
"We take care of it together. Hopefully, later the trees planted today can thrive and increase our oxygen reserves," he closed.
